Rusty Musicians

BSO Rusty & Not So Rusty Musicians
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Dorset Rusty & Not So Rusty Musicians project offers all participants a day (or more!) of music-making with BSO musicians, as well as the opportunity to perform in concert with the full Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Come along and reawaken your enthusiasm for music, develop your ability as a musician and gain confidence in performing – you will be amazed at what you can achieve! Now in its twelfth year, the project is an opportunity for all those who have a musical instrument that has not been touched for many years – or for those who would simply like the chance to play as part of an orchestra.
Beginning with informal coaching sessions by BSO musicians in venues across Dorset, learn some tricks of the trade from professional musicians, make new friends and play your instrument with others. The emphasis is on fun in a warm and friendly atmosphere, plus of course the joy of making-music.
For the final concert, participants will be joined by the full BSO for an orchestral concert at Lighthouse, Poole. So if you have reached at least Grade V and enjoy playing your instrument - or even if you haven’t played for a while - join us and take up the challenge!
