BSO Membership

The BSO membership scheme has over 1500 members, music-lovers with a particular affiliation and love of the BSO and its music. By making an annual donation at a number of levels, the membership scheme raises over £100,000 annually, vital support that enables the orchestra to take the music beyond the concert hall – into the community, into schools, to those who are not lucky enough to have experience of orchestral music.

Because we are grateful for this support, which is so vital to the future of the orchestra, we offer our supporters increased value, more music and new insights into the life of our busy orchestra. We hope that there is something for everyone.

Benefits include priority booking for ticket subscriptions in Exeter and Poole; a copy of our Quarternote magazine four times a year which is full of news and information about the orchestra and its work; discounts on BSO CDs and our popular open-rehearsal afternoons. Higher level members receive additional benefits which include free concert programmes, and special events.

The popular rehearsal afternoons give members the chance to meet and take tea with internationally renowned conductors and soloists. Our programme of fun-filled coach trips across the country include trips to some of the country finest theatres and concert halls, and groups of members sample the delights of other European cultures on a regular basis.

At the higher levels members can become more involved with the BSO - our chair sponsors level, for example, is linked to a specific position in the orchestra, and participating Members have the opportunity to meet musicians on a regular basis as well as having their name printed in all BSO winter programmes. We have also launched a new level for large donors - the Conductor’s Circle - presided over by new Principal Conductor Kirill Karabits.

Membership levels:

Conductor’s Circle - £2500 and above
Principal Chair Sponsor - £1000
Chair Sponsor - £550
Platinum Member - £450
Gold Member - £350
Silver Member - £200
Bronze Member - £100
Joint Members - £60
Individual Member - £40

By donating every year you help Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra plan for the future. And we can claim Gift Aid on most of your donations, increasing the value to the orchestra by a quarter.
