The BSO Endowment Trust has in the past supported such orchestra projects as:
Education projects including primary and secondary school children and children with special needs
Instruments and other equipment for the education department including various percussion instruments and electronic equipment
Long Service Awards for musicians with over 20 years continuous service
Touring initiatives including orchestra's last American tour
Concert sponsorship
Sponsorship of specific artists
Sponsorship of the new Steinway piano
The young conductor scheme
Education initiatives to attract new audiences into concerts
The above schemes are projects and activities that the orchestra is unable to sustain. It therefore requires additional support in order to enable the orchestra to undertake these activities. The BSO Endowment Trust will act as a valuable conduit in distributing any funds that will be donated to any of the initiatives.
